Join The Club – Junior Rugby

Looking for a fun, active way to get your kids off screens? Junior Rugby is the answer! It’s the perfect way for tamariki to grow lifelong friendships, develop skills, and build connections, all while being active and involved in a supportive community environment. We’re only a few weeks away from lacing up the boots and getting out on the sidelines for an action-packed season of footy! If you haven’t already, now’s the perfect time to join your local rugby club. With 23 clubs across the Auckland region, everyone has a local!

Our Commitment to Safety – We understand that safety is a top priority for you as a parent, and rest assured, it is equally important to us at Auckland Rugby. We’re proud of how the game of rugby has evolved over the years to ensure it’s a safe and enjoyable experience for players of all ages. This includes:

  • Restricted weight divisions: Ensuring players are matched with others of similar size and ability.
  • Coach Development: We have a team dedicated to upskilling community coaches and Club staff in the latest age and stage development techniques to foster a safe and fun environment.
  • Girls-only grades: Providing dedicated opportunities for girls to thrive in rugby.
  • Non-contact options: Available for all ages u5-u17, offering a chance for all players and those new to the sport to develop their skills without the physical contact and to continue through the grades if tackle isn’t their thing!

We’re here to help you get your kids off the couch and onto the pitch, where they’ll learn teamwork, discipline, and resilience in a supportive environment. Rugby is more than just a sport – it’s a chance to be part of something bigger, to grow with others, and to have a blast while doing it!
